A business undergraduate, Sumit’s graduate studies have been in Disaster Risk Reduction and Crisis Management (DRRCM). He has worked effectively equally with academia, government agencies, armed forces, and grassroots communities on various DRRCM initiatives and Open Street Mapping for Disaster Preparedness. During COVID-19, Sumit supported the national response through his expertise in Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) and linking community research with national policymaking on RCCE. Sumit is a faculty member at the Institute of Crisis Management Studies in Kathmandu. He has extensive experience leading community sensitization programs (DRRCM) in urban and rural Nepal. A dedicated teacher and mentor to university students, Sumit is a skilled researcher with a knack for identifying solutions that work in low-resource settings such as Nepal.
Firmly committed to entrepreneurship to reverse the brain drain from Nepal, Sumit conducts Entrepreneurial Skills Development workshops equipping young entrepreneurs with essential business skills and strategies to create business canvases, conduct SWOT analyses, and perform comprehensive market analyses
